SEAWOLF RECEIVES JUDGES’ SPECIAL AWARD AT THE WORLD SUPERYACHT AWARDS

Design Unlimited is pleased to share that Seawolf has been recognised with a Judge’s Special Award for Rebuilt Yachts, at the 2026 World Superyacht Awards, presented by BOAT International in Venice

The 58.8-metre explorer, originally build as a tugboat in 1957, has undergone an extensive rebuild at Pendennis Shipyard. The project represents a careful balance between preserving the vessel’s heritage and introducing modern capabilities, both technically and in terms of the onboard experience.

The award highlights the considered nature of the transformation, acknowledging a project that successfully retains the spirit and character of the original vessel while adapting it for contemporary use. The incorporation of hybrid propulsion technology allows for more efficient and flexible operation, supporting a reduced environmental impact.

Design Unlimited led the interior design with Ngila Boyd, developing an approach that responds to the yacht’s history while introduing a refined comtemporary design language. The aim was to create an interior that feels authentic to the vessel, while offering a calm, well-resolved and highly livable environment.

The judges recognised Seawolf as a distinctive and thoughtfully executed project, noting the complexity of the rebuild and the sensitivity with which it has been handled. The recognition reflects the close collaboration between owner, shipyard and design team, and a shared commitment to delivering a yacht of lasting quality and character.
