This 33m performance sloop was the first project by new naval architecture studio Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design. Built by Vitters and launched in summer 2016, Missy is a high performance yacht and has a lightweight, modern interior with clean lines. The yacht’s hull has a thick foam core, which allows for reduced internal structure and thus maximises the interior space. The joinery is a lightly washed grey-painted oak with a smoked and limed oak flooring that invokes a light and airy feel. Minimal styling contrasts with textural finishes that add both warmth and interest. The yacht features a large owner’s stateroom forward with an adaptable twin/double berth arrangement plus three further double guest cabins. The owner is a keen chef so there is a strong connection between the galley and the living areas of the saloon. There is also a large cockpit and particular attention has been paid to the transition between the cockpit and the interior spaces. The main brief from the owner was for a family boat for fast efficient cruising and Missy delivers this admirably.
